I'm doing the Weight Watchers "diet", and I need to start exercising. Any suggestions on what type of exercise to do? Should I run, do weights, do yoga?

Do some cardio (burn calories) and some exercises with weights or yoga (toning)...you want to burn calories, and build some muscle, which will in turn help speed up your metabolism and burn more calories even at rest...

Walking is a great start if you are not used to exercise...add in some jogging when you are ready...shoot for (build up to it if needed) an hour a day, 5 days a week...if you can do 2 hrs a day then go for it...I shoot for an hour before work and an hour after work, when I'm in serious "weight loss" mode...otherwise I try to do an hour a day even when I'm just wanting to maintain my weight...

If the weather is bad, get some aerobics videos and workout at home...or join a gym...rollerblading, bicycling, or trikking are also great and fun...

Yoga is awesome for toning the body, building flexibility, and helping to calm/center yourself...I love it...also some exercises with hand weights are good...you can also get videos for toning certain areas of the body (I like the old 'buns of steel series, or Denise Austin's "hit the spot" series)...

Congrats on the desire to do something...just know you have to stick with it, so do a variety of things so you don't get bored...change it up...it's a lifestyle change, not just a temporary weightloss aid...be prepared to keep it up indefinitely, to keep the pounds off...

Good luck!

Cardio AND weights. It will help you tone and lose weight, yoga will also be good. Try to do all three if possible. Dont overwhelm yourself though. You should try to get in atleast 30 minutes of cardio, the more cardio the more calories you burn. Elliptical is a GREAT machine to burn calories. When you do weights make sure you start on a weight you are comfortable with then overtime you can increase it, try doing 20 reps x3 so do 20 then stop, another 20 stop, another 20 stop.

What activity do you think you'll enjoy doing?? Do some toning exercises along with ___. You'll need some toning to build up some additonal muscle and that'll help you burn more calories. The cardio you do will help to burn fat. Whatever you decide to do, pick something that's enjoyable in some form or fashion. If you can change it up by being outdoors, music or various classes. Whatever.... Just make it fun because then you'll continue to do it!

Walking at a steady pace is a great way to work out. Try to work up to a mile first then you can work to a longer distance. You should try to get in around 20 minutes of exercise a day.

Walking is one of the best ways to lose weight. If you like to dance I say do a lot of dancing around the house. Check out some video's from the library. And just remeber to keep moving.
