strange you ask that question...guess my parents arent the norm because there has been no real surprises since I've become an adult they are still the same ole go to work come home people they have always been...and really in my case i found it to be opposite because i used to actually think my parents were just so stupid but now i see that they really did know what they were sayin and i must admit that i am a well rounded person due to the knowledge i gained from my parents...however NO my parents were not perfect but who is?

To be honest, my parents are the angels that I have always thought they are. And they are the smartest people I have ever known.

I didn't have to grow up to know that, and no, I'm pretty sure I never thought my mother was the smartest person in the world.

My parents were immigrants and my brother and I was born in the US so I kind of knew right off the bat that they were not the smartest people on Earth. They were illiterate and my brother and I were like 14 and 10, trying to translate stuff for them.
Other than that, I think they are a perfect fit for me.

My parents were never angels in my eyes. Or maybe they were but the realisation came slowly. I think if you have a fairly good relationship with your parents it doesn't surprise you to find out they're only human after all.

What you should be asking is "why did you think your parents were angels in the first place." Just because they are not the perfect angels your little pea brain made them out to be does not mean that any insight or advice they give you is wrong.

Nope, my momma is still the smartest person in the world. My "sperm-donor"... who some might call dad... on the other hand is the biggest idiot in the world. So yeah, he was a bit dissappointing.
