something taken seriously and followed fanatically or should it just be there for a little comfort of what happens after life and to create a sense of community or do you think it should be abolished completely.

how exactly do you suppose a person would go about abolishing a religion? Many people are willing to die for the religion they believe in. They hold traditions that are thousands of years old. That does not mean they are fanatics. Its no different than being willing to die fighting for your country. How could something as sacred as a person's religion not be taken seriously? A person's religion whether Christian of Muslim or Buddhist cannot simply be abolished, created, or thrown away. For the reasons above and the fact that everyone has a religion or philosophy rather that shapes how you go about your life even if you dont believe in god and believe we were created by evolution that in itself is a philosophy. And no doubt it shapes how you think and act.

Good question Prabhu. I think that religion should not be taken fanatically, seeing as this causes major disagreements. However, if people really did follow religion like they're supposed to, these disagreements would not become violent. Of course, we're humans; we're corrupted. Although, if one takes religion lightly, it's sort-of defeating the point.

Ideally, all religions should co-exist. If there was no religion, we should co-exist as well, however that's not going to happen. I think either way we should simply be accepting of those of all faiths (or anti-faiths).

I try and follow my religion as close as I can, but sadly I am not so good at some aspects (ie chanting 16 rounds of 108 beads per day). But that is my own fault, and is quite irrelivant. That is my humble opinion.

Religion is a very personal thing. Of course everything that is too over the line is bad...and I think that being a fanatic in a religion is well, crazy and not normal. I think that people many many years ago invented religion, god and afterlife to comfort themselves that there will be something after death and also to make people do good things, because if people would know that there is nothing after death they would be selfish and bad, maybe. But nobody should tell you, even your parents, what religion to be or not be---it's your choice.

Religion does not have to be followed fanatically it should be a very personal thing chosen and discussed between the person and God . Religion should never be abolished .

Hmmm...sounds like something I heard in my philosophy class.I don't think it should be followed fanatically. Anything done, be it good or bad, to the extreme is not a smart idea. I feel people should do what makes them happy. If you want to believe in a higher power, then do that, if not, then don't. It's very simple. I do not agree with people bashing others' religion or walk of life. We all come from different cultural backgrounds and beliefs and should be entitled to worship, or lack thereof, as we please

Religion is good and bad. It helps unify and gives people morals to live by. At the same time it drives some people do do weird things. Religion should be kept. But maybe there should be more restraints on what the religion means and its role in society.

Religion should be abolished,
Jesus is the only way.
He should be followed fanatially, His love and forgivness needs to be spread throughout the world.

If by religion you mean my faith in Jesus, what happens to me after this life is not little. It is the most important thing in my life. This life is just a breath. It will pass. The next one is forever. How I make my plans for it are preeeety important.
