I have always thought of myself as a person with patience and perseverance. But after having struggled through my lust problem for the past 8 yrs, I wonder if that is enough to overcome the problem.
I am not saying I am gonna wave a white flag and just give up. But at the same time, after having failed more than 100 times at least, I have started to lose confidence. As much as I try to bring myself up to try again, I can't stop feeling like I will give in to lust problem again. I feel like I am caught in a vicious cycle.
Needless to say, I wish I could just overcome it somehow by willpower, and be free from these pains resulting from my lust problem. But it is so hard, so tough, and takes so much out of me. How can I find the strength, motivation, power to go on when I have already failed more than 100 times in a battle against lust problem?

When I fail and I mean a lot...not just the lust thing but other things, I have a dummy at home and when I fail I just punch the hell out of it...but my knuckles bleed and so I spend the time taking care of my knuckles that keeps me going.
Or I come on here in the religious section and find I not alone.

Maybe you need to stop seeing it as a problem?

God created you the way that you are, so maybe that's the way God wants you to be.

Maybe He thought it was a good Idea for you to like Girls. I'm making a slight leap of faith here since you didn't actually say who it was that you were lusting about.

God must have wanted you to be interested in Girls because he had a lot of souls to cycle through the earth school. That's the way he chose to set up the opportunity for more children to be born. This idea that lust is a bad thing was thought up buy roman catholics years ago.

The christian churches kept the idea when they split off. I always figured the catholics were jealous when the young boys they had their eye on started to notice Girls. You know how they are?

Love and blessings Don

First and foremost you have not failed until you have made it to the finish line and you are no further than when you started.
Second: there are those times in life we have to have the assistance of others to complete our goal. Professions deal with this every day now that their is so many pron addictions. Getting self help books, joining a support group, and numerous other things to choose from. Maybe its just time to go to the next step and reach out to someone who has conquered this already.

Lust is an evil addiction like abused drugs. The only way out is through the strength of God not of yourself, for the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I will lift you up in prayer. Love, be bless.

May I be honest with you? Without the holy spirit, without Jesus Christ, you will not be able to be "more than a conqueror". The bible says those in Christ are exactly this. Overcoming sin cannot be accomplished without being born again in Jesus Christ, whereupon the spirit of God will indwell you. That is not to say it will be easy. What will happen is that He that is within you, once you have accepted Jesus as your savior (and that will be God in you), will be more powerful than he that is in the world (satan), the one delighting in your repeated failures. Think about it. You will have the power that created all things battling against those sinful thoughts and deeds that, now, keep you in bondage. Nothing of satan can stand against the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

if this was your last day on earth
and your next move would send you to either heaven or hell
what would you do
there is only one God
there are many demons
the names and faces change
but thru our body's weaknesses he comes forth to kill steal and destroy
all happiness
all love
alle families and relationships
he seeks to destroy
there is no third party choice
God or him
Which shall it be

each time you fall down, you get back up.

that's how i became so rich.

:)

you often can't go upward and onward unless you make mistakes and learn from them.

(PS. lust ins't a problem. it's natural. feed on it and enjoy it. strong attraction for someone you find sexually attractive is quite normal. lose the guilt. it's silly.)

I listen to the song 'move along' by the all american rejects. A great anti-suicide and failure song. It helps you in getting motivation.

try it.

my youth pastor says you never really fail, until you fail, to fail the right way. and that means that if you learn from your failures then it's Ok, but if you don't you need to.
