you need complex carbs no simple carbs! The carbs that are found in natural things like yogurt and veggies and fruit. sipmle carbs are the ones that your body can't break down, and it just stores it as fat!
I found that cutting AS MUCH fat (NOT ALL) is what is working for me!

There are two basic types of carbs:
Complex carbs - things like greens and veggies. Then there are starchy complex carbs which are things like whole wheat, oats, potatoes and beans.

Simple carbs - white four, sugar, white bread, white rice. These are the bad carbs that you should avoid. These are basically broken down into their simplest form during processing and then they have to be enriched with nutritional value. (ex. enriched flour). These types of carbs have a much better chance of turning into fat (if you over eat) than complex carbs.

Now whats the best way to eat cabs? Well you should be eating 5 meals per day equaling 20% less than your daily maintenance level if you want to loose fat. These daily calories should consist of 40% complex carbs, 40% protein and 20% good fats.

The best way to get your 40% carbs is by eating more of your starchy complex carbs in the morning and tapering them out by the evening (7pm) at which point you can still eat fiberous complex carbs like greens and veggies.

Hope that helps,

Adam Beazley

PS: the simple carbs/sugars found in fruit are good for you but its best if you eat them in the morning and mid day.

The good carbs are Pasta,Rice,Vegetables, Fruits and the ones you should eat in very small amts or cut drastically way down if trying to lose weight are Cakes,Pies,Cookies,Sugar,Honey and the such,Ice Cream,Pastries and so on. Fad Diets do not work for you can;t stay on for a long time and then the weight you lost and more will come back-need to learn sensible eating. and be aware of calories and of course you have to Move.-any activity aerobic at least 1 hr a day. Th trick is control a small wedge of pie and eat slowly instead of half a pie, for example for although some people can do without many can't-do not deprive for then will splurge but eat small amt to satisfy craving. To stop craving for more drink a glass of water, cup of tea,if old enough coffee(actually very good for you) and suck on a piece of sugarless candy-I do the peppermints 3pieces are 15calories.To get a good eating plan and stop the confusion-been there-helps to go see a Dietician who will do a meal plan and list foods in orer of best and not good. Well worth it.

carbs are good. if you are eating the right ones. for instance, whole wheat, rye or a combo of the two. if you eat rye or whole wheat with a calorie content of 80 or less with 5 gs of fat, you are OK. now, if you are working out intensely the night before, eating a carb in the morning, is fine. because, when you work out, your body burns fat and energy. the reason why we wake up hungry is because we sleep for about 7 hours, or we are supposed to. during our sleep, since we are not eating, our body taps into is "reserve" station and feeds on the glucose until we eat again. if we don't eat and replace what we used during the night, our body thinks its starving and when you actually do eat something, it will store it as fat. anyway, sorry off the topic. carbs are ok...just eat the ones that do not include whole flour. must eat wheat or rye or something similar like pumpernickel. good luck!

Your body won't touch its fat stores until your glycogen stores are burnt down. This means that you have to reduce carbs and only eat complex carbs. DO NOT CUT THEM FROM YOUR DIET! Carbs are the biggest supplier of energy to your body. You need them. Just eat less and the right kinds.

Carbs = glucose= sugar. The body burns sugar before it burns fat. so the less carbs you eat the easier your body gets to and burn your fat stores. At first you lose a ton of water weight but then you lose the fat. However the minute you start eating carbs regularly again you balloon up.

lets get one thing straight...u need carbs! just in moderation. stick with complex carbs that will give you sustained energy throughout the day, as opposed to simple carbs that are a quick source of energy and can be metabolized quickly. also, before a workout, you need carbs to get your energy going...as long as you don't go overboard on them, you'll be burning fat in no time...just make sure you have at least 30 minutes of physical activity at least 4 times a day. exercising for 20 minutes will just result in carbs being burned...u need to exercise longer than 20 minutes to actually get in the "fat burn zone"...some people(ie. me) workout for about 45 minutes then i know that i'm getting at least 25 minutes of exercise that'll actually burn fat.
good luck

just stay away from sugars....carbs are an energy source for your body...when you excersice, your body will use the carbs, then fats, then protein...that's why people cut carbs b/c your body will get to burning fat faster..but carbs are good..30-40% of daily calorie intake is supposed to consist of carbs...complex carbs are the carbs you want(nuts, pasta, brown rice)..
