yes, but hey we're not of this world so we will feel estranged. And yes I don't like Target either because they don't let Salvation Army people stay near their store on Christmas :(.
Wal-Mart still is better.

I think it is retailers trying to get Hanukkah and Kwanzaa trade as well as just Christmas trade. I say this because I work in a retail store and was there when we decided on Happy Holidays after several years of our Jewish community assuming we don't service Hanukkah celebrations. The owners of our store are Christian but would like to clear a profit by not alienating the large Jewish community in our area during the holidays. Jews make up a large portion of our customer base. The sign won't hold the words "Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Blessed Kwanzaa."

Sorry, I'm not Christian but it's not an anti-Christian thing to respect all religious holidays rather than just the one.

You'd be hard-pressed to find many atheists who are bothered by people saying "Merry Christmas". Much as the Christians and the right-wing politicians want you to believe that there are armies of PC-crazed atheists dead-set against people saying "Merry Christmas" or "God bless you", it's simply not true. The vast majority of us just couldn't give a rip if you want to say that kind of thing.

If anyone is "taking the Christ out of Christmas", it's not secularists. You might trying looking at other religions. The whole "secular world taking Christ out of Christmas" thing is just a stupid little propaganda scheme from Fox News - they're just trying to sell you stuff.

I was agonna say something, but the guy above me made me stop and Think.
Still Thinking.

(still)
O.K. it got Commercialized, and they took out Christmas.

Brain Lock.
Later............

Meanwhile, back at the Ranch----I'm back, o.k. , this is all I could come up with:
1. We are In the World but not of it.
2. Jesus didn't tell us to Take the World back, but to go Into All the World and tell'm about Jesus---Jesus will take it back when HE comes back.
3.While were Here, we be good Citizens and do the Right Things, Vote, help others, obey the Laws (if Laws are Just) so on.
4. If we can't Vote and Change it, then we should PRAY and Vote and Change it, if that don't work, then we Should Learn More About Walking in FAITH, PRAY and VOTE AND IT CHANGES.
Best I can do, worked two jobs today.

sorry, no it doesn't bother me anymore, it use to, but as i grew I realize that with so many people getting offended, by the name of Christ, that if we know what the season is and the reason for the season, then that is what really matters.
we celebrate the birth of Christ in our own way and getting upset about the way other want to celebrate just takes some of the joy out of it.
I love the Christmas tree, the Christmas light, and the Christmas carols.
and i really like the presents.
but honestly no matter what they call it, in truth they are celebrating the birth of Christ, even if they do not want to admit it.
and i am sure that Jesus enjoys every body celebrating his birthday, no matter what they call it.

and holiday does mean holy day.

I work in a department store.

I assist people of all faiths at my store, and I have no way of knowing to what belief my customers adhere.

Therefore, I wish them Happy Holidays, which *includes* Christmas as well as Solstice, Hannukah and Kwanzaa.

Christians do not hold a monopoly on the holiday season.

It used to until I realized that us christians are just about as bad. Maybe worse because Christmas is not or ever has been really about Christ anyway. If it is why do we put up trees with lights? That has nothing to do with baby Jesus. Buying each other presents doesnt either. Its just a big party day and we try to make it Christian because we like Santa Clause or presents or lights or trees or something. Its really all pagan.

To start I am Christian...but there are other holidays at that time too...Not just Christmas...can you imagine having to spit out:Merry Christmas,Happy Hanuka, and happy Kwanzaa! Have a nice day!
Bah...that would be time consuming and rather stupid....Happy Holidays takes care of everyone.

No not really. I dont worship any name calling from anybody. I do worship only begotten miracles of healing and the way that happens. But as a whole I don't think anyone should be made to worship just because I do.

My dear, in my most humble opinion, a true follower of Jesus Christ will first: Love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and second love their neighbor as their self. Third we must follow peace and holiness with all man. We must tell people what Jesus Christ did for us all on the cross, how God had the master plan before time began, etc.....etc..., Although I understand your feelings.
