Do you have any big goals in life? Well, focus on those goals for motivation and make a list of 7 essential things that you must do everyday in order to achieve those goals. Of course, if you have other 'less important' but urgent things to do, then you can always put them down on your 7 things "to do" list.

In short, just make a "to do" list everyday, and there should be at least 7 things on that list. If you can't accompish all 7 tasks in any particular day, then make sure you put your unfinished task(s) in the following day's "to do" list, and as soon as you wake up the next day, finish up those tasks and do your new tasks.

If you follow this system for at least one month, you will accomplish so much that you'll be amazed at yourself.

That's a tough one. Anyone smart enough to use and spell procrastination correctly is certainly going to be able to outwit the lowly schemes that try to force him into any untimely actions.
However -- one of the systems that has been successful is to ensure that the chore, whatever it is, is neatly sandwiched inbetween two desireable activities, and that the filling in the sandwich (the chore) isn't so thick that it can't easily be swallowed.
So -- let's say you have a term paper to write, but you're more interested in reading a book or watching a favorite show on TV.
Give yourself a two hour spell of working on the paper. That's a pretty significant amount of time if you have done your research and outlined the paper. Watch your show, then TURN OFF THE TV and head for your desk to work on the paper. Set an alarm clock on the floor if you wish, and when it rings, after two hours of good work, turn it off, pick up your book and treat yourself to a half hour of reading while you have a cup of tea or whatever. Then return to the paper and you should be able to finish it off.
If you're procrastinating about chores, try the same system. Bribe yourself to start, reward yourself when you finish. And keep a list so you can check things off, or give yourself a gold star, or whatever it takes to make you say, "Jolly good!"
There are likely hundreds of other solutions, but this is one that has been known to work. In fact, it's been known to work for me, because I'm the world's biggest procrastinator.

I learned something the other day that I thought was pretty cool. You can think to yourself, "What's the smallest amount of work I can do on right now?" Then do it. Usually accomplishing one part will help you to feel more motivated to work on other parts. This process is repeatable; you could do a whole project this way!

Another technique I read about to help people get over procrastination is to make a list of things you have to do and rate them for how long you think they will take and how difficult you think they will be. Then when you complete one of these tasks, rate it for how long it really took and how difficult it was. Over time, you will probably notice that things often take less time and are less difficult than you thought they would be.

Do some now, some later.

Do the easier things or things that take a short amount of time.
Or break things into smaller tasks. A big chunk of work at one time tires you out.

If it's a set of dishes to wash, for example, do them now.

I try hard not too, but the thing is no matter how hard i try i'm not perfect and once in a while i do procrastinate

Think ahead (the opposite of procrastination). It's much easier to be ahead of yourself than behind yourself, that's for sure. You are less likely to be stressed, whether you realize you are stressed or not. It's all about self-determination and motivation. Are you willing to work hard to be less of a procrastinator? If so, then it's easily acheivable. If not, you may struggle in this area, but don't give up.

Motivation----make a list of things to do that day and do not stop for the day until done Check each item off when done. The only real solution is YOU wanting not to procrastinate for one cannot physically carry you from one task to another--Do this every day until you no longer put things off-----you have to change your way of thinking and re-train yourself.

Well, here's a couple of things you might try. Every morning when you get up, look in the mirror and say, "I think I can, I think I can, I think, I think, I can! Or, before you actually get out of bed in the morning, close your eyes again and very "vividly" picture a steal toed boot coming at your backside at a speed of about 120 mph!
Pretty soon, the thought of getting out of bed will be more appealing than that boot! Did this answer your question? (tee-hee!)

dreading a job or chore is worse than doing it and getting it over with.
doing it right the first time means you may never have to go through it again, so get it done.
stay on task, distractions [even pleasant ones] cause loss of focus
make a prioritized list and stick to it. [ i rarely do this and it is my downfall but when i do it really helps]

Give up having to be perfect. Do not even strive to be perfect. Just move to get the job done. Make plan to move and work every day on a project to get it don.

well if its a project or homework or something just set a time to do it and tell yourself that you are going to sit there for 30 minutes and work really hard and try to get all of it done and then you wont have to worry about it anymore... thats what i do
