Lacy,
Welcome to R&S.
Many people are believers like you.
Many are believers in GOD, but NOT like you are, or many mainstream religious.
This is not wrong as there are many many things humanity does not know - and knowing GOD is always top on the list of things humanity does not know.
ALSO - there are people here that are ATHEISTS - I say this as perhaps no one mentioned that ALL are welcome in R&S, and some come here to see how faithful people are, and ask questions that would make an old exsailor like me blush; well that hasn't happened -yet, but there are very rude questions here! Just thought you should know.
What else, oh yeah, Please stay as bubbly as you are. People will brighten up when you are here, as many have been worn down by the rudness. Many will try and wear you down, because your brightness and joy somehow affects their life (?). So all the rude answers just ignore. Well you know that, sorry lol.
About swearing - yes taking the name of GOD in vain is becoming a problem. Either people WANT to let everyone know how upset they are, and few phrases are faster, or many people do not fear GOD as they should. There's no telling with humans.
Well, again welcome to R&S section.
Peace.
P.S.
There are many in Yahoo Q&A that LIVE to correct spelling and grammar of others. Please!! DO NOT LET THIS AFFECT YOU. Your message or question will never be lost by a misspelled word, so don't let them worry you.
Again Peace.
P.S.S.
HA! forgot to tell you - I'm a Roman Catholic, that sins too much.

You made me laugh. Thank you. I as well belive and know Jesus. It bugs me as well how pften his name is perverted and taken in vein. I don't think it is so hared to say gosh, I should probably use it more. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ bless you and keep you until He returns to have you.

This reflects my experience with religion that was more concerned with Mary being a virgin than the meaning of god. It seems to me with my own experience that Christian religions have moved from trying to understand reality to praying to objects that man made.
Also it is interesting to note that no one in the Christian world could decide if Jesus was god or not until some people in the Roman Empire about 400 years after Jesus died, during the council of Nicene declared he was. Before that many people took the the phrase "son of God" as meaning that he was a child of god like we all are and was given the gift of understanding god, better than most people.
I see very little in religion that has to do with god, so I'm not religious.

I'm not religious but I do have a code of ethics I live by. I feel people should be left alone to believe in whatever they choose as long as its not harming others. I don't have a problem with people saying it one way or another but do not like it when people spell 'a lot' as alot... I mean that's just wrong!

Not at all, if you mean doing things to gain God's approval. In God's eyes all my good deeds are like filthy rags.
Absolutely, if you mean trusting in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to be the payment for my sins (past, present, and future)!
Welcome to Yahoo! Answers. Don't worry about some of the comments you are bound to get concerning your question.
God bless and keep you,

You believe in God and Jesus so you shouldn't take the name in vain.
However...I don't believe in God or Jesus...should I also abide by your belief?
Just for the record I always say "Oh My Goodness"...because that's what I was taught to say.
