My vet has prescribed vitamin K for my dogs but it's $50 a bottle from the vet, GNC has vitamin K for $5.95 a bottle, can I give my dogs the vitamin K from GNC instead of getting it from the vet?

Nope....it is different. The type of Vitamin K that is necessary to treat rodenticide toxicity is available by prescription only....it is not sold over the counter, not anywhere.

I know it's pricey, but many dogs have died as a result of what you're proposing. It will not work. It's the wrong type. Your dog will slowly (and miserably) bleed to death internally if you try to substitute.

To whoever gave thumbs down on this, maybe you should try to find out the facts before making judgements you're not educated to make. Vitamin K3 and VitaminK1 are VERY different. You CANNOT substitue for the treatment of bleeding disorders.

I agree, talk to your vet. I give my dogs human vitamins (per my vets recommendation) but my dogs are 120 lbs, 150 lbs and 210 lbs.
