I will answer the drinking question - God never said it was bad to drink - ONLY to get drunk. The other stuff you are talking about will lead or can lead you into situations that are not healthy. Yes you are right your body is a temple and it should be treated as such.

it all depends on the person situation. If the person has just accepted Christ into his/her heart and they are addicted to drugs and alcohol; it's going to be very hard for them to get off of that stuff. But if a Christians start drinking for the heck of it, and get drunk, I think that it is a bad thing. because it is true, your body is the temple of God and you don't need to trash it.

Any addiction we can give up in this life will make things easier in the next life when we lay our body down. We carry with us to the spirit world all the inclinations, habits, both righteous and unrighteous, that we hold at death.
I believe it would be easier to quit smoking, drinking, and other addictive practices now than try to do it in the hereafter. Nevertheless, some religions, as mine, frown on any practice that is addictive and all-consuming.

The drinking is not an issues as long as you don't drink too much.
At the last supper Jesus shared wine and bread with his friends.
In general it is not a sin to do any of these things, now it is a sin to due these things if you do them excessively.
It is not what you take that makes you a good person, it is what you do

I think drinking just to get drunk is a sin. Jesus and his apostles drank wine but I doubt if they threw up afterward. I think everything you do should have a purpose. What is the point of smoking? or drinking? Cigarettes don't smell good and liquor doesn't taste good so what is the point.

I think that as a Christian you should refrain from getting drunk, doing drugs and any other addictions. Only on special occasions I'll have a drink with dinner, but never more then one and i'd never be seen in a bar partying it up

No, they should not do things that are not good for them. Even unhealthy eating is wrong. Our bodies are a temple of God and we are expected to take care of them, God wants us to live longer and be able to bring more people to Him and His plan of salvation. People that do these things arent truly Christians, they just use the label. God calls His people to be obedient. and He clearly tells us how to live and act, and to take care of our bodies. our minds.. the whole package. because He loves us.

I say when we get the "love your neighbor" stuff down pat, we can worry about trivial stuff like smoking and drinking.
