How about a restaurant then a movie, maybe dancing after. LL.

Depends on the kind of girl she is. If she's the easy going laid back type, go shoot pool or go go-kart racing. If she's a bit more girly, she's probably rather a sit-down dinner, maybe a movie. Of course, if she's your friend, you'd know her better than I would, so what do you two like to do when you hang out? Don't get too nervous, remember that you're friends, and you want to grow from that, not lose it and jump into something different. So do something you already know you'll both have fun with.

i think you should go somewhere fun and spontaneous instead of the classic dinner and movie. that way you can talk about what you just did but prepare a list of things to talk about anyway in case you run out of things to talk about.
