So I'm guessing you sell pot for a living? Maybe you killed a few too many brain cells. What about all those other drugs, murders, robberies, rapes, accidents or even acts of terrorism? Yeah thats what I thought. And as for them being unemployable, last I checked you couldnt walk in to the police dept and get a job off the street. Apparently there is some level of education involved and a huge amount of training. Besides thats why they arrest all the pot dealers so while your in lockup they can force you out to pick up the trash on the highway. Have fun.

You are comparing apples to oranges. You can legalize pot and we would still have loafers, still have trash on the highway and still have unemployable people on the force. However, if we legalize it then we would not have to spend so much money trying to stop people from using a substance which is NOT addictive and unless you use so much of it that all you do is vegg out it does not cause medical problems nearly as serious as those saused by alcohol or cigarrettes.

I think that the generally unemployable people would fall into the category of those who sit around smoking pot, eating potato chips, and laughing at old Sat. Night Live episodes. We'd have much cleaner streets if you and your pot smoking buddies were out picking up trash on workfare instead of collecting welfare and supplementing your income selling weed.

- You need more Hwy patrols and ambulances. Because more DUI will happen and more accidents will happen. More people will be injured and died as a result of that.
- Next you insurance will shot up because of all the accidents goes up.
- More work related injury will happen because workers goes to work after smoking the pot.
- Also, there are long term medical effects on long term people taking pots. That means the medical bill and medical insurance shot up dramatically. Do you know how much money cigarette has cost government and local health industry ?
- Also the worse thing is not the person who smoke it. And the second hand smoke affecting children and pragnant women. The damage will be much severe.

No, we need the police.
If pot were legalized--I do not smoke but I can not see sending anyone to jail over a weed growed or found in the woods. It would help them cut down on their job so they would have more free time.
Contrary to the belief that Pot causes accident, cell phones cause more, alcohol causes more, reaching for a regular cig causes more. I said and mean it, I do not smoke pot, but the people who do smoke less of it than cig. I do not mind it being smoked around me. No, I am not catching 2nd hand--they go outside.

Even if you legalized pot, the firing of ½ of all the police forces across the US would cause serious and probable overthrow of the government. As people turn to warlords and gang leaders for protection. Not to mention that the influx of much harsher substances such as cocaine and heroine. Who be there if someone broke into you home in the middle of the night, with an alarm going off, to protect you and your family. No one. We would be at the mercy of the person breaking into our homes. Even if you have gun in the home you still have hope that you can get to it first and hope that he has not taken your mom, brother, sister, son, or daughter as a hostage.

Ever hear of the Opium Wars? This happened after China discovered opium made people inefficient and work less so they blocked off shipments that came in from England. Bloody wars ensued. The point? Legalizing drugs will cause an already unbalanced society to tip over the edge.

I am an ex cop. I have a Masters Degree, most of the colleagues that i worked with had at least a BA. I am sorry you got arrested but you should have obeyed the laws installed by your democratically elected representatives.
Beyond the childish name calling I believe it would be best to eliminate the laws restricting marijuana. I think it should be taxed and sold by you local grocer. Unfortunately; cops are still needed, their labor would be reallocated to crimes that threaten society.

Lets see, If pot was legal...... More DWI arrests, more fatalities in accidents (and please just because you think you can drive while high doesnt mean everyone can). More B & E to steal to buy legal pot, Health Insurance premiums would go up cause pot causes cancer way more than tobacco does, yet another addicitve product to blame things on, lower IQ's (it does kill brain cells), and lets not forget that pot does lead to harder drugs. (again just cause it didnt in you doesnt mena it doesnt in others). Why legalize pot??? try working out, get an education, find ways to improve your self and make society a better place than a land of stoners.

It would make a great deal of sense, but will never happen. Too many of the people making, enforcing and adjudicating have a financial interest in it, and were it legalized, their income would be impacted.
