he has an infection either pull the tooth or get a root canal.

How long has he been taking the antibiotic? The swelling could actually be from the infected tooth and the antibiotic may not have had time to wipe out the infection. As long as he doesn't have any other symptoms of an allergic reaction (rash, difficulty breathing, hives...) then he should be OK. If it gets worse, he should go back to the doctor. Hope this helps...

He has an infection in the gum area around the tooth. that is why his face is swelling. He needs to go to a Dentist NOW! There is a serious brain condition he can get from that infection in his mouth. The amoxicillun is good, but maybe not strong enough.

The infection probably had a head start. Continue with the antibiotic for the full term of the prescription. He probably needs a root canal done but the dentist will not do it until the infection goes down. Be patient.

IT USUALLY TAKES 2-3 DAYS FOR THE ANTIBIOTIC TO START TO WORK. EVEN IF THERE IS SWELLING, THAT PARTICULAR TOOTH MAY HAVE A DRAINING ABCESS CAUSING THE FACE TO SWELL. STAY ON THE AMOX, AND SEE A DENTIST A.S.A.P.

I usually let an aspirin dissolve on the sore tooth--but its only temporary and this is no good if he is allergic!!
I'd get him to go to dentist or a pharmacy!!
