Apple Sauce is certainly better than Cookies, Cake or Candy, but it is a far cry from real fruit. Here's why:
Real fruit like apples are great sources of fiber, especially the skin. Apple sauce is made from peeled apples so there is no fiber benefit but you are stuck with the calories
Many brands of apple sauce have added sugar or corn syrup. This adds to the calorie count and introduces processed sugar to the equation.
Organic applesauce with no added sugar I guess is the best choice, but you cant get it easily everywhere. One that you can find in a regular supermarket. Is Musselman's All Natural Unsweetened Applesauce. Its not Organic, but it's good.
Best bet: Eat an Apple

I don't see why it wouldn't be OK to eat applesauce every day seeing as how the doctor's recommend you eat like 5 servings of fruit a day or something to that effect. Don't quote me on the number, but it goes something like that.

Apples cooked or raw are great for you. Vitamins, minerals, and fiber. I love applesauce especially if you put a sprinkle or two of cinnamon in it. Or add a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon, a bit of nutmeg, heat it, then spoon it over vanilla ice cream. Yum!

Yeah, I think it's ok. My son loves it. You can get sugar-free ones and it counts as a serving of fruit.

Homemade would be best, but it would not hurt you to eat it everyday; just watch the sugar intake!
