Is there anyone who can talk to your friends parents to try to convince them. There is always an underlying cause of a heart murmur. Some causes are fairly benign, but the fact that she is having fatigue, dizziness and shortness of breath sounds like congestive heart failure to me and could be a serious problem. She really needs to have the testing. Try suggesting echocardiography. It is totally non invasive. It is basically an ultrasound of the heart. they can see if the valves are working properly or if there is any malformations, birth defects, or in some case disease. I have had several and they are really easy. The symptoms she is experience can be dangerous.

A heart murmer is nothing too serious to worry about. With my second child i had one and then it went away after i gave birth. I don't know what state this almost to be 16yr. old lives in. But here where i live you can check into a doctor clinic at 15yrs. old without the parents knowing. She can try a private clinic. If she gets a good doctor they will keep her information private. It all depends on what it is and so long as the doctor feels he will not get into trouble holding info. from the parents. And if there is child abuse going on some doctors are very good at knowing if a child is been abused.
Good luck to her and you for helping her out.

I ask you this. If she has a heart murmer what can a doctor do about it? The answer is really nothing. Yes they have certain medication for it but the facts for really helping are found in nutrition not medication. To help her murmer she needs a few key ingredients. CoQ10, omega fatty acids, and a broad spectrum of other vitamins and minerals. These have been studied to be very effective without the use of medications that tend to have severe side effects. Our bodies have amazing recovery of function if we give it the building blocks for success.

A heart murmer is usually a valve not closing properly.
It is possible she may outgrow it, but it is also possible it won't ever cause her any problems, it also can be a serious issue.
IF the Doctor recommended further testing, NOT having it done is putting her at risk. In my book, that is neglect.
Is not going against her parents wishes worth her life?

usually a heart murmer is not serious a lot of people have them me included. Unless you have symptoms such as difficutly breathing and chest pain they dont worry with them.
As far as free testing unless this person qulifies for medicade then no you have to pay for it and being 16 you always have to have a parent conscent
