I've tried the ole spraying it with oven cleaner, then wiping it down while its still warm, however the fumes damn near gag me.

I'm thinking you can just clean it with old fashion soap and water. But unplug it and just get a damp rag and wash it down. Don't put anything harsh in it, cause it could remain on their like get in your hair.

This may sound weird try coca cola and aluminum foil not while its hot though. then towel wet with water.

vinegar and water... wait till its cold... make it strong vinegar and water. its acidic.
