The new recommendation is for them to start seeing the dentist at 1 year old. This was changed from 3 to 1 this year. I was told by my daughters pediatric dentist this happened because they learned more by studying the bacteria in our mouths. We as parents are introducing bacteria to our childrens mouths by cleaning binkis and such with our mouths before placing it in the babys mouth. As well as sharing food and such.
The average age is between 5-6 to start loosing teeth.

Most dentists will not see a child until the age of 3 simply because they can follow directions better.
If you have dental insurance, call them first to see if you need to take them to a general dentist before you take them to a pediatric dentist. Some, but not all, will make you have a referral first.
Baby teeth are usually lost at 6 - 7.

A child should go to the dentist starting around age 18 months. This is to get them use to the idea and have the dentist count teeth and make sure all is ok. Cleanings should start at age 3. Good luck and have fun.

I believe 3 is the best age...maybe 4 being better because they are a little older & understand things better. As long as you are maintaining good dental habits. Brushing their teeth (gums if they have no teeth) providing them with Flouride (Rx through Dr.) if needed, waiting until the ages of 3 or 4 I think personally would be ok. I'm not a dentist, but it seems to make sense not to overwhelm these little tykes so that they might fear the dentist in the future. As for teeth falling out...6 maybe 7?

They should visit the dentist around the age of 3 and they usually start to loose teeth around kindergarden or grade one. Could be a bit younger or older depending on the child

Between 6 months and a year your child should go to the dentist even if they don't have teeth.

My son at the age of 1.5 had some tooth trauma after falling. I brought him to the first time to a pediatric dentist to have his tooth looked at. His tooth was fine but she told me that the recommended age for first dental exams is actually one year of age. She showed me , for all intents and purposes, a handout from the pediatric dental assoiciation with that recommendation clearly noted. Most parents I know bring their kid at the age of 3. I am not sure when baby teeth start falling out, sorry.

I think when your child will sit still for the dentist. Which I would say around 4. I know i read to take the child at 1, but what child is going to sit still for a stranger and let them poke and prode in their mouths. I would not want to devastate the child Just my opinion.

by the first year, but you don't have to. Just make sure you wipe his gums every night which you could find it at Target or any other stores. Also after a year or two, they should start getting regular check ups every 6 months. Oh, they start loosing their teeth by age 5 that's when kindergarten starts.
