Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware
Senator - I think you know what that is
Soror/sorority - a group of girls in colleges
Frater/fraternity - a group of guys in colleges
Audio - means "to hear" in Latin, in English if something is audio you listen to it
Somnambulist - sleepwalker

Close to 50% of words used today are based on Latin.
For example, all fractional words are from Latin.
Deci, centi, milli, micro, nano
Decimal (based on 10) decimate (kill every tenth man).
Equal (from aequus, even, level) comes from Latin.
Thus equator. You'll find words like that all over the place

didn't the ancient Romans speak Latin??? If so, we use Anno Domino (sp?) for dates (A.D.) it means in the year of our Lord.
