why do police commit so many murders?
-They know they're safe, and will get away easily

and how do they get away with it .
-You see, the way to investigate misconduct is filing a grievance. It lands in the hands of Internal Affairs (that is, if you requested a receipt, or sent it in via certified mail, or the caring officer who tried to talk you out of it didn't change your mind).

But, if they side with you, it means they employ someone who broke the law, and depending on the severity, the chief will look like he can't manage his group and the mayor may deal with a lawsuit.

So, Internal Affairs will ALWAYS dismiss a complaint unless there is irrefutable proof on tape.

DO NOT let that discourage you from filing a grievance, that is what they want! Your complaint may add the drop that overflows the cup, and you'll have a statement to take to legislators all the way up. You get the grievance in the cop's personnel file too, and who knows, maybe someday a judge will order it scrutinized...

Police are human too. They put their lives on the line every day. Sometimes they put themselves above the law when they see criminals get away with crimes due to an inefficient judicial system. They know it's wrong, but they have allowed their personal feelings get in the way of doing the right thing. I have no problems with the police what-so-ever because I obey the law and treat the police with the respect they deserve. Sure there are bad cops, but they are few and far between. Remember that next time your rights have been violated.

Do they? Maybe they are just protecting themselves. Maybe the people they kill deserve it? Riddle me this - if you had a gun and come crack head called you every disrespectful name you have ever heard, wouldn't it take a lot of will power to not at the least pistol whip his ***?

Wanda, you are obsessed with grievances. I don't know what you have against cops, but you're brainwashed! You call them pigs regularly in your posts and I can think of a particular one where you said they were over paid. You are an ignorant ill-hearted woman. Sure there are some crooked cops out there, but there are many good ones. I have a quick story for you.

I met one of the nicest guys I have ever met one day, he was renting a movie for his granddaughter when I met him. We have a mutual friend as it turns out. Anyway, I later found out that he is a cop. About a month later, some guy goes to East St. Louis, buys drugs, uses the drugs, gets his wife shot, and ultimately tries to run over this cop I met before all of this. This particular cop had to fire on the driver (the drugged-up asshole). He killed the driver to save his own life, and now he has to live with that. This man is near retirement and couldn't have done with out killing another human being. What you forget is that cops are human too, you think many of them could kill anyone without thinking about it later wondering what they could have done differently?

Wanda, you are an ignorant woman with hatred your putting in the wrong places.

Police have a very hard job to do. Everyday their life is on the line. It is not fair to the profession call it murder. I support our law enforcement 100%.
There may be a few bad police but the good are in the far greater majority! Look how cute most of them look in uniform!!!

On 10-23-06, an officer in a town not too far from the town I patrol, was shot several times and killed while sitting in his squad car on a midnight shift......He was probably doing a report or something and the S**T BAG snuck up and shot him!!!

That, you moron, is murder !!!! Wake up and show some respect for a wife, child, friend, or family member of a slain officer who might be looking at these questions.

God bless the family of the murdered officer I just mentioned.

I was once a Police Officer. I used lethal force on two occasions. There is a difference between using force and murdering someone. I have also investigated civilian shootings that were ruled self defense. These people were never put into handcuffs or taken to jail

During my tenor a detective on the force did murder someone. He was sentenced to life without parole

When police become like soldiers, civilians become the enemy.

It is recorded by the Pentagon that American soldiers on foreign Internal Security duty feel hate or revulsion to their civilian population after 11 days average.

Perhaps a similar process can occur within a militarised police culture.

In some case, by cover up, in many of the other cases, they keep their mistakes to a minimum, because of their police training.

it is a fact that officers especially jailers do inflict harm to inmates that cause death and then their biggest cover up is suicide or if they are questioned about what happened they make up impossible stories about what might have happened i do not condone wrong doing and you should be punished if you commit a crime but no one on this earth is God and they have no right to just get rid of someone because they are a bother to them how heart broken would their families be if it happened to one of them have a good evening
