they are brainwashed by parents and family, usually from birth. i don't blame a lot of them for how they are. it's a lifetime of brainwashing.
it's like people in the south who still hate non-whites, etc. for some people, it's all they grew up with.
really, it's a form of child abuse.

This is from experiance.
So many people have so many questions, like how we came to be? People don't like feeling like theres no answers. No answers means no hope, being lost . When someone out there presents you with an answer, you have a feeling of relief thinking that if that could be answered then everything else can too. All the problems that we go through , theres answers and we don't end up like those people out in the streets shotting up drugs to find an escape. People see religion is more as a guarentee that there is a heaven and that everything will be ok, that even though theres darkness in life theres also a light.
for example imagine being lost without streets signs , not knowing where to go..wondering if your ever going to reach your desination..some give up ..but some keep going. Some just need that guide that path to show them how to get there,
thats religion a way of path an answer to all your problems and knowing that no matter what youll always find your destination.

God did give all of us a mind to think.
I had the same opinion that you once had, I was not born into a Christian home. In fact, I used to debunk the notion of God and Jesus until I was 26.
And then I met some people, and I started doing research. I started reading what God was doing in peoples lives and it started to interest me. It made me want to learn more.
I personally know people that have had amazing healings, things that doctors can not explain. These people had others praying for them around the clock.
I look around at this planet and all of the amazing things and I wonder, "How can all of this be a mistake?" "How can this planet be just far enough away from the sun to not let all of us freeze to death, yet not so close that we all burn?" Is that by coincidence?
I do not know about other Christians but for me, there is nothing blind about accepting Christ. I live it everyday and hope that one day you get to experience His power yourself.

You have committed the fallacy of hasty generalisation. Do ALL Christians blindly accept what they are taught? So-called "blind" followers exist in EVERY religion, and even in non-religious areas there are "blind" followers who simply follow what others say. So for you to single out Christianity for bashing, and to paint a broad brush, shows that you did not use your mind to think when you first ask this question. And no, your question does not deserve an answer, at least not from me. It deserved a rebuke, which is what you just got. Think about it.

I don't know if blind acceptance is what is really happening. I think that it is like a house of cards with some religions. If one thing is incorrect then the whole premise of "word of god" has to be questioned. If one cannot rely on the word of god then a person becomes fearful. Unfortunately many dogmas have a literal interpretation in their beliefs. This is how religions can keep their flock in line especially if the head of the flock is the one to interpret. Religion is not spirituality. We already have the answers we need. We just need to uncover them and only we are able to do that. Did you ever wonder if unquestionable belief is a form of arrogance? Peace.

I'll admit that Christians have done a lot of steriotyping of other religions themselves, but that does not give anyone the right to badmouth us. We are not brainwashed cattle! Sure, there are some people who would follow ANY religion blindly, but they do not speak for everyone. True faith is about combining the traditions you are taught and your own personal beliefs in order to create a more spiritual self.

There is a change in the air. Now, quite a few Christians are waking up and do not accept their religion blindly. In fact, no human being on earth should follow any religion for the sake of fighting for it as this is the main cause for all evils. God did not invent religion but human beings invented it. The hardliners cultivated it for their gains.

It's the nature of religion. It's the same reason Jews believe Moses talked to God. Another word for religion is faith, and if you think about it, faith means to blindly accept something.

Reason is denigrated and dissed all the time in Christian churches. The one church where reason is on a par with faith and tradition, the Episcopal Church, is the fastest shrinking church in the USA.
That hints at the real answer. Modern Christianity, with its emphasis on emotional hysteria, attracts people with an AUTHORITARIAN PERSONALITY and weeds out others.
Ultimately, you're right, they are swatting aside God's gift of a thinking mind --good catch.

Because when a Christian is saved, your veil is lifted, why do athiests go around trying to proove the TRUTH wrong, when it is thier only way to salvation and they are only hurting themselves and what other poor mislead, misguides souls they try to take with them.
I tell you Jesus Christ works in the lives of those that believe, and it wouldn't matter what anyone said or tried to disproove, when you know, you KNOW, when you ask THE LORD INTO YOUR LIFE YOU WILL SEE A WHOLE NEW AND BRIGHT LIGHT.

can't call me brainwashed, I wasn't always a Christian, my parents didn't shove anything down my throat, we didn't pray or speak of God in our home...
This is a good example that Christians don't just blindly follow, or accept... it is through faith, trust and yes as it is your choice not to accept, it is our choice to accept Jesus, to love Him with all our hearts, all our minds, we have seen because we believe, not the other way around. We put our total trust in Him, just as anyone trusts thier mom or dad, or loved one...
God knew us before we were born, that includes everyone, and He stands at the door to our hearts and gently knocks... it is up to us to open the door and let him in ( to our hearts)
