Everyone goes through it, I realize that, but sometimes I let it get to me and it affects my mood for more than a couple hours. Suggestions?

Exercise is good for mental growth. Exercise makes our mind calm and develops memory. It helps increase self-confidence and moulds our personality. There are various forms of exercises such as aerobic as well as anaerobic exercises, which provide various benefits. Aerobic exercises are running, swimming, cycling and walking. They aim to burn your excess calories and also increase your energy. When you are following these exercises you inhale a lot of fresh oxygen. In this way they are beneficial to the cardiovascular system and keep the blood circulation process intact.

You may not be open to it, even I bashed it at first, but meditation has really helped me deal with stress. My stress used to be so bad that I was having anger management issues, I wasn't sleeping, I wasn't eating right, basically I was really unhealthy. My doctor suggested I try meditation. I scoffed, thinking meditation was for monks and people who do yoga, but my problems got worse, so I gave meditation a shot. Just for about a half an hour a day, I find a quiet place and allow myself to get lost in my thoughts. I think about good things, and if I feel myself drifting towards something that is stressful (like school, finances, social issues) I just turn around and wander somewhere else with my thoughts.

Well, usually its best to take a step back and see the entire picture. Take a few deep breaths and relax yourself. Figure out who or what is causing the stress and figure out a way to either reach an agreement or how to fix the problem at hand. Stressing out is a natural reaction to something you don't like, so work to fix it!
If you have the chance, start working out. That always helps me in the long run to reduce stress too.

I know of two simple steps, "look up" & "vent out".
I learned it in a semiar that when you look up, it kind of cuts the blood circulation for the part of your brain that controls emotions. Also, just scream out loud once in a while. I recommend that you don't do it in the presence of others, though. You don't want people to think you are losing it, although you may be.

stress affects me the same way so i know exactly how you feel. one way to avoid stress is to avoid stressful situations. some examples of my own is some friends let me down this past week by talking about me behind my back and it just really hurt my feelings. i couldn't get over it and it stressed me out. one way is to just clear your mind of everything. another way is to pray about it. so i guess it really depends on what has you stressed out. family, girlfriend, friends, work, school, etc.

Try a cup of decaffeinated green tea/a teaspoon of honey. Take a mile long walk and then relax with that tea. Close your eyes and "tell" yourself you are relaxing. Works for me every time. Good luck.

Stress is the result of not kicking the sh*t out of somebody that desperately needs it.
I find humor helps me.
Joking aside,Daisy has the right idea.

Since nobody else has suggested it, sex. Sex is great for stress, at least for me. That and just vegging out and doing something else that won't let me think about whatever it is that's stressing me out.
