yes u can but u have to bridge it or run it mono i can run mine at 1 ohm mono i have a memphis amp

Just be aware that clipping and distortion is much easier to introduce by pushing a sub at it's max.
It's always best to match RMS watts between sub and amp. That way, when a non-typical peak hits, it won't cause excursion.
Subs and amps have a continuous power handling for a reason.

lol the guy at the store is a dumb a**. i wouldnt recommend putting that much power into the sub for more than a couple min before your coils are in danger of frying. and im pretty sure memphis isnt known for underrating their products, so go tell the store guy he doesnt know what hes talking about. he just wants you to spend more money.

continuous power can be doulbed most times to find max power, or go to Crutchfiled.com, they have these listed on the website, and if not they have a techline number that you can call to get better tech help frrom the people that do this for a living.

no... rms is what you can put into it constant.. all that means is if you hit 400 you wont blow it. if you run 400 constant, you will peak at 700 and blow every thing.. if it is DVC you can run them in parralell or even if they are SVC you can still run paralell and be fine running 600 watts.

guy at the store isnt too bright. dont buy a sub that he has ran. run the rms, thats what its there for. peak is more of a selling number.

yes first memphis is a jam up speaker, yes you can you can max out the power..........amps really push more than what they list...........u will be fine the guy at the store was right........................
