My husband brought home some frozen sushi from a company he delivers to. On the package it says to heat for one minute in a commerical microwave(and to leave them alone for 7 minutes so the heat can permeate throughtout the sushi package to "defrost" them). My questions is how long do I put the sushi in my regular microwave for?

power! Commercial microwaves are much more powerful! They heat MUCH faster... I would actually just defrost in the refrigerator...or use your defrost program on your microwave for the amount of lbs of sushi...

a commercial microwave has a higher wattage than a home model. most home models are around 1000 watts, commercial around 1700. the single serve containers of Campbells Soup say 1min 15sec for home, 45 sec for comm. so a minute and a half, maybe 1min 45sec should do fine. and if you aren't eating it immediately, it's probably better to sit it out and let it thaw to room temp without the microwave. sushi shouldn't be hot, or very cold. more of a room temp dish.

commerical micros have more wattage depending on size just like are home ones are diffrent too. if i was you is stick them in for 1:50 then feel , or defrost in frige. But, actually I thought sushi was raw.

I'm pretty sure that the only difference is the size of the microwave. Use the same directions.
