Is there some common ground upon which I can remain congenial and respectful to those with more evangelical views without having
to shout at one another or resort to name calling.

You're correct in your thinking, Tony. God IS love, and everything is in it's right and purposeful place at any given time. God created everything, everything to be experienced, the good, the bad and the ugly :) We don't understand it all down here yet, because His Divine Plan is far beyond our comprehension at this time.
In knowing that everything has it's right and purposeful place, then knowing too, that those people who adhere to evangelical or fundamentalist Christian views, also are experiencing their right place.
That said, respecting their journey in whatever way they feel their hearts are guided, is something to be expected - right? Love is the only thing that is important in developing an intimate relationship with God ... that, and an open heart.

God is love
Love is blind
Stevie Wonder is blind
Therefore, Stevie Wonder is God

The problem with evangelism is that, more often than not, the person in question is firmly and exactly set in their position. You cannot even hint at the discussion of other worldviews or perspectives because they have made it their life's mission to repeat their beliefs over and over until people start joining in.

In my experience, it is usually they who start the name calling.

photo that God is a guiding rigidity that promises the varieties and common sense for the large Bang to apply. there is skill (the Bang) notwithstanding it want actualities to attempt at. A rationalization why there is order rather of chaos. notwithstanding it is a cushty God who works by technique of top-rated and persuading, no longer capturing lightening bolts at each and every man or woman who displeases his royal highness (a concept borrowed from the Romans i imagine). So issues flow slowly, continually in course of larger and extra relaxing life. in spite of each and every thing, the universe is God's conciseness, the reality that provides him something to recognize.

God is love, that is why He sent His only begotten son to die for our sins. But, it is our sin, our imperfections, if you will, that we allow evil to enter, which is basically disobedience. Satan thought he could be like God, be better than Him. So, God in all His perfection, allows satan to fall on his face all on his own. satan will never be able to blame God for satans actions, so he learns that he was wrong. That is where the Heavenly father thing comes in. God treats us like the most PERFECT father He is.

Sure, just state what you believe and don't knock people for their beliefs. It's not a contest and no one wins a prize for being the smartest.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for the sins of the world.

If this cannot be agreed upon, then there is a problem with continuing .
