Ask the small claims court in your area if cases were filed against your landlord.

Contact your state housing authority and if they cannot help they should be able to point you in the right direction. The most important thing you can do is to put everything into writing. What I mean is if you have spoken to the LL write down the day and time you spoke and you said and what they said. If things still do not improve then write letter to the LL and make sure you put the date and time and keep a copy. This way if the problems continue to persist and you have done everything you can you may have a valid reason to leave. You will still need to give what ever notice your lease requires but if the LL purses you for breaking your lease you can show the court every time you spoke them and all the letters you had written and the case should go your way.
