Because they have no idea, what we are up against in the next few years, and people, the media, the influential people aren't doing much about it, but I'm with you there should be a sense of urgency as this is very serious and global warming is getting worse, the situation all together, people come and go and don't give a care about what is taking place in our environment and how the ozone layer is being depleted, it is something so very serious, we are almost at the end of October and it's been about close to 90 degrees in Los Angeles, I've never seen that, this is something so serious and it's about to get worse, if we don't act soon, we should start groups and promote campaigns to save our environment, people in our local communities need to get active on this, not many people even know what to do to take the appropriate measures.
We should do something while we still can.

Because right now people do not have to. All of the above mentioned are preventatives. In general people do not take "preventatives" seriously for anything...even for things that are important like basic body health. Maybe they have too many other things to worry about?

Becuase we cant see the change/results once we begin to do positive things.So we dont do it..Most people will not do things unless they are able to physically see the change

One word: money. It costs much more money to be "environmentally friendly" than it does to do things the "old fashioned" way.
