If you don't want it to come back, go on some stupid fad diet (and regain twice as much), or risk your cardiovascular health with unknown substances, work out and eat right...aim for 1-2 lbs per week. Sometimes men can do more in a healthy manner, because a lot of times their metabolisms are much faster than women's (not in all cases). But, 1-2 lbs per week (the first week of a diet/exercise change you might see a marked loss, like 4-5 lbs just once) is safe. Good luck.

1-2lbs per week is ideal. but your first few weeks of dieting or just eating better/exercising you should lose way more...probably at least 3 or 4lbs a week. thats only for the first 2 or so weeks. then it slows down.
