photography in the navy or marines?

I am really good at filmmaking/ Video Editing and photography and most things that have to do with art. I have always been interested in the military but i still don't know what branch to look into that will give me the opportunity to travel all over the world and do what i love the most.

The Navy just combined it photogaphers mate and journalist jobs. You will be able to travel the world. The jobs you can expect to do are screen writer, reporter, producer, camera operator (tv/film), photographer aerial, photographer still, photojournalist, and more related to those feilds. To top it off the Navy will pay for you to get a degree in what you love to do.

As a former Marine I can tell you that the correct answer would be that our Combat cameramen/women are GRUNTS first then the camera. Grunts don't really like the camera man/woman because they feel as if they get in the way and then they don't get the facts right. Also, they really don't like the camera being there because it is more of a liability then an asset.

If that's what you want to do I wouldn't look into the Marines. The idea in the Marines is "Marine first, MOS second". I have a friend who is a photographer in the Navy and he says he loves its, but I don't know what they have for film making.

not sure about marine combatman, i think navy cover that, navy photographi is very very had to advance.... one of worst rate in navy for advacement, navy while defintiy yes alot big ship like carrier need decent amount of photographer, they get to usethe 1000 dollar nikoi SLR camera.

most of the bracnhes have camera men, but the marines call them combat camera but one things for sure if you join the marines you at least travel to Iraq for some pictures, but alo tof grunts dont like the camera men honestly
