whenever someone is mean to me on yahoo answers i really take it to heart . IM CRAZY :( i literally can go from liking myself to flat out hating myself just because of something negative someone says. how can you delete your entire account??

The reason other people's opinions matter so much to you is that you have little confidence in yourself. Your opinion of yourself is whatever the last person told you. You need to think about all the good things you do each day, all the funny things you say, and all the great things there are about you that others don't see and tell yourself that you are a good person every day. If people don't like you, it doesn't matter. You need to like yourself and respect yourself first or you will never have peace. God loves you. If He can love you, that's all the permission you need to love yourself. Give yourself some pats on the back every day. You deserve it. Good luck. God bless you.

Sometimes people are mean without realizing it. No one knows you and your sensitivities. They have no way of knowing they are hurting you.
Sometimes a mean answer will get someones attention.
Sometimes what appears to be a mean answer to a question is not mean to the person who asks the question but appears mean to someone else who reads the answer.
Sometimes people will ask a stupid question just to get a mean response.
People answering questions do not know the people asking the questions. They interpret the question based upon the person they are and how they have read the question.
So to ask a question on this type of forum you need to expect to get just about any kind of answer. What you perceive as mean may not be mean to someone else.

Rather than delete your entire account, you should try and grow a thicker skin. I'm sensitive and I'm always trying to be less sensitive. I definitely think I've made improvements. And who wants to make the same lame mistakes over and over again during life? Self-improvement is key.
Unless someone is harassing you - that's different.

bandl84 has some good advice, but I would add to it, most people are not deliberately hateful. We all operate from the position of what's best for ourselves, and it's really hard to see things from someone else's point of view, especially when that someone else has hurt us. I used to get angry at people telling me "don't let it get to you", but then i thought of it as similiar to "don't let that punch land". Some people are really good at verbally punching, but most aren't. Most people who say something nasty on the internet wouldn't hesitate to stop a child from being kidnapped, or to save someone from being assaulted, if they felt capable of doing so. Just realize what seems hurtful to you probably looks totally different from their perspective.
Of course, you can always stop reading Yahoo Answers.

You need to calm down......people on here like to be mean for no reason and you can't take it personally, no one on here knows you as a person, so sometimes answers are not always the best advice. I think people just like to start trouble.
