How do you go about asking your buddy if you can ask his older sister out?

My buddy has a older sister, how was recently divorced a year ago. My buddies fiance wanted to hook us up but he doesn't seem to keen on the idea. I'm not sure if he's trying to protect his sister because she's not ready for a relationship or for other reasons. He's one of my best friends and I don't want that to change, but I really think his sister and I would be a good match. Any advice?

I think you should be honest and open with him. Your friend should know you well, and hopefully you have been a great friend. Let him know that you think his sister is special and that you are the one for her. Ensure him that you know she is recovering from a broken relationship and that you would never do anything to hurt her. Let him know you just want to be there for her, be her friend and more.

while he is your friend you are not taking him out ---- discussing his sister behind her back is not good --- talk to her let her know that you want to take her out but that you dont want to change your relationship with your friend
