Can they take them off if they move out of state? Lawfully move, and set up probation with the new state, I mean. Not run and be a fugitive!

Okay, am I not specific enough? I mean, if probation in the new state does not require them, do you have to leave it on?

The ankle braclets are owned by the state you are in and would not be transfered to another state. First you would have to get permission from the probation department for the transfer,

Upon your first meeting in your new state if the transfer is allowed, they would tell you thier rules and regs.

it would be up to the judge who made him wear the GPS tracking. Most likely, a convict would not be able to move out of state... I guess an exception to that is if they committed a felony and was convicted in multiple states. Or if the old state offers to pay the cost for that person in the new state. Long story short, it all comes down to who is responsible for paying.

It should have been specified in your transfer papers what would be done with the gps If it isn't I suggest you call the original probation officer so you don't violate your probation

common sense says yes,but I think they would have to get a court order for permission, and my guess is they would not allow the move 'till the probationary period was over, depending in the level of the crime, district attorney, circumstances of crime etc.
usaully they dont like to let anyone leave the county or state of issue because it would be the county or state losing money,as they make money off of inmates and criminals(on federally granted monies to the state)probationary or incarcerated
