They have to work when they are scheduled.

I am curious why you singled out construction workers. Most construction workers start at 7am. Others end at 8pm. In a residential neighborhood, city ordinances limit noise from 7am to 8pm. Depending on the type of construction, they have to work around other schedules...

Another reason is society. Construction workers have a family. People to eat breakfast and supper with at night. Kids need to be taken to school or picked up. Kids sport events are important to construction workers.

For all you know, most construction workers are smart enough to avoid rush hour. You see the few that don't. Or they drive between jobs at all times of the day. You assume, construction workers work at a central place. They actually can be working at a number of different jobs at different locations.

If you know about rush hour, why don't you avoid it too? I do, but I am in lawn service. I drive all day long, but I still know how to avoid rush hour.

We have to work BY LAW during the day time. It is even mor edangerous to work after dark. We do night work but it is kept to a minimum for many reasons.

As for rush hour remember this. In America we have 5 seasons, winter. spring, summer, fall, and construction. Of these construction never ends as roads always need repair.

The price construction companies charge for working off hours often prohibits the possibility of night construction. It depends how things fall into the individual budgets of the dept's of trans.

They work when they're told to work and I'm *sure* they appreciate people like you who don't have the sense to realize that!

They've got a job to do just like you... so how about showing them a little respect!?!?!
