Yes, inbreeding leads to loss of vigor and less resistance to sickness. A brother/sister mating will also accentuate all the bad traits of the parents. If you want to breed, you should seriously consider getting an outside mate for each. If not for the reasons above, them because many people will not want to buy or take the puppies from you. Inbreeding = bad stigma.

i don't think I somewhat have seen this a lot delusion and incorrect information in a unmarried thread before. Does inbreeding impression canines?? definite for sure it does. The breeding you're suggesting is breeding a nil.5 brother to a nil.5 sister if i'm interpreting your question wisely. once you've a PhD in genetics, and a pair of perfect Dobies which have 0 faults then by technique of all ability the breeding might want to be truly certainly worth the prospect. (yet in spite of doubtless perfect canines you ought to assume to ought to cull one out of four doggies) without the archives and the proper animals your probabilities of having doggies that are even well worth their weight of their personal waste are zilch. i might want to communicate about that there is an finished breed that owes this is life to the mating of littermates (Llewellin Setters) you ought to comprehend that one of those breedings were carried out at the same time as the culling of doggy's replaced into an basic prevalence. Breeders of that element even culled doggy's in the journey that they were the incorrect coloration. So until eventually you've a want to flow decrease back to those approaches of breeding, what you're suggesting is a concepts to on the point of also be seen. notwithstanding the breeding does no longer produce some type of three headed monsters, notwithstanding it would want to double up on truly some recessive genes that you probable do not comprehend of their life.

Yes it can And is not recomended!!!!

A friend of mine bred brother and sister together got 6 pups five died from un developed lungs - due to inbreeding

The one that a has survived , well we have to wait and see what happens with her. She is 9 months old and already bigger than her dad , so no doubt the bone problems are coming.

but generally if your dogs parents have any sort of Problems eg: heart , bone , hip , Any problem at all ones that may not show yet

the inbred pups will get double up of theses problems making them very exspensive , They can grow to be huge or not grow at all depening on if they get a double up of the height gene.

they ca actually be retarded so to speak and not develope mentally!

And for the mother well its a horrific exsperience , her pups are dieing she doing the best she can to look after them but they just die , then the people take them away .
when that happens and you try to breed this b*tch again more than likley she will eat the pups out of fear.

DO NOT INBREED YOUR DOGS

Since you're asking the question it's obvious you know nothing about genetics.

Inbreeding should ONLY be done by experienced breeders with a thorough knowledge of genetics, plus a total understanding of every dog in their dogs' pedigrees for at least 3 generations back.

If you inbreed without knowing what you're doing, every recessive fault (be it health, temperament or conformation) will be coming out in those pups. For example, if your dogs' grandfather had a bad temperament or his dysplasia, you are going to be passing that on to a whole litter of puppies and causing a lot of heartache for anyone foolish enough to buy one of them.

Yes it does. There is a greater possibility that they will have health issues and in some cases even birth defects.

With all of the dogs that need homes why would you want to purposely "breed" a brother & sister?

You do NOT mate brother & sister. Also you don't breed unless the dogs are 2 years old or older, had health testing done & passed (not just simple vet exams), done a careful & complete pedigree research, either shown or had the dogs evalauted to see if they meet the breed standard and are breeding worthy. Anything less is irresponsible breeding.

Why????? If you don't know what to do then you are better off not breeding them. It can be very costly and how would you feel if the female died while giving birth. If you want a puppy just go to your local shelter or rescue group and get one there. Good Luck KG

Yes, inbreeding will affect ANY animal with DNA, which means that it will affect ANY animal, which means that it will affect dogs.
