50 years ago the people of Holland were of average height.
Now the average height for a man is just under 6ft and 5ft 7" for a woman (3" above the UK average). Anyone know why?

Well Im 5ft 10 and in the uk,female.I didn't know that statistic,maybe its something in the water!!!!

I just think theyre normal sized! althoug I do admitting to meeting a Dutch Dr last year and he was about 6ft 7 - they are amongst the tallest people on the earth, maybe its somethning to do with with their nordic viking heritage? Anyway I prefer tall men!

The Netherlands is such a low-lying country that it is necessary to have high dykes or polders to keep the sea out. It follows that the people living there have had to grow taller to be able to see the views around them.

The Dutch are not taller. It's the "dynamic-clog" syndrome. This effectively makes them look taller 'cos the soles of their clogs are 3" thick.

the milk and cheese and water. the Dutch eat plain healthy food
also it is what they feed their cows. barley, whole grains. Grazing good healthy cows. my ex is Dutch.

maybe its because half of them are stoned and dont want to move and the other half had to pull them to get to move hence slightley streching both bodies.lol
