Don't color it, let it grow out and the original color will come back.

You really should let a professional do it!!! But, if you insist doing it yourself... At least go to Sally's and get the color you want + a very low volume developer (5% or 10%) Read the instruction well!!!!!! The reason your hair didn't take the lighter brown is because color doesn't lift color. You can't put a lighter color over darker color, you have to remove the darker color first i.e bleach it. BUT DON'T DO THIS!!!! Your hair will end up fried if you try to do it yourself. So just go to Sally's and get a darker brown color and put the color to your roots first. Let it develop about 20-25 min. (check the color) and then apply it to to ends. I TRULY, TRULY wish you would let a professional do it, but hope this helps.

In order for you to get a lighter color you have to use hair lightener first to bleach out all the color and then when it is light enough you can color it light brown. The reason your last color only colored your roots is because regular hair color will not lighten hair that has already been colored dark. especially black.your root took the color because they were your natural color when you put the last color on. You should not try to fix this yourself. Go to a salon and have a professional correct it.

hi, you can go to a salon and get your hair striped, and then they can do brown with highlights, or if you cant go to a professional, you can use a shampoo that will do it for you, like parell, or something cheap, it stripes the color out for you, use it a few times, then condition it with a leave in, then start over, you got hot root because your actuall root was lighter when you died it, you need to put the color on the darkest part first, leave on about 20 min. then put on the rest for 10 more min. this should do the trick, hope this helps.

That is exacatally what happened to me and what i did afterword to the T. Go to sally beauty supply and ask someone to help you find a brand of hair color that is a med brown and the mixing stuff that gos with it. Then go to the salon and get highlights cuz by now it will be hard to get the highlights in, and tell them to blend the highlights in that way they are thin and it just lightnens your hair to a light brown. OR go to the salon bleach your hair blonde then wait 3 weeks and dye it back light brown.

Yeah, repeating much of what was said above, either go see a professional or just stop doing stuff to your hair and let it grow out! I would highly recommend just leaving it alone and letting our hair grow out. Eventually the old color will grow out and you will be left with your remaining natural color. That is the beauty of a naturally recurring element such as hair! Good luck!

I suggest that you go to see a professional immediately. What you are trying to attempt is called a corrective color. The only way someone could tell you how to fix it is if they saw it. I am studying to be a cosmetologist and I could tell you how to do it but I would have to know exactly what colors your hair where. In other words I would have to see it.

I suggest going to a professional and getting dyed to a single color for now. I dyed it black 2 years ago, and they where afraid that the black wouldn't come out, it did. I loved it black, my hubby was mad that I dyed it back to boring brown! I was too. But in order for you to get it to its natural, I suggest a pro! Good luck!

you will have to bleach out all the old colors first and then use a strong permanent dye afterwards. try 'Bigen' from sally beauty supply. it's really strong and has a deep, rich color. good luck!
