Do you know who you are? Then be yourself. Girls will either notice you or they don't. Do you know how to talk? Well then try talking to the girl. How else are you going to get to know her? Talk to her. You have things in common... school, homework... people you know...
Do you have a wingman? Use him to build you up. Send him over to find out if she is interested. A wingman is a good friend who isn't shy.
When she walks by... drop a book.. but don't pick it up.. You are looking for eye contact... after the eye contact then pick up the book, if you can remember that far. See if you can maintain eye contact as you pick up the book.
Think in terms of getting notice in a positive way. Don't do anything terribly goofy.

Start talking to her, just in a friendly way, get to know her better, and let her get to know you. See how she responds to your advances ie: if she likes talking to you. once you two are familiar with eachother then ask her out. don't try to do stupid stuff to get her attention. just be yourself. she'll appreciate it. good luck!
