I'm in retail, my position is semi-stressful, there are many jobs more stressful than mine, and many that are less. For some reason, I'm way more irritable and impatient toward customers than I used to be, a few years ago. Also, if I have projects to do, I feel very stressed and frustrated, until they're completed. It doesn't matter how important (or unimportant) the projects/tasks may be, or whether or not I'm behind. It's good, only in the sense that it makes me more driven to complete things in a timely manner, but it leads to even more impatience, stress, and frustration. And it's not a matter of facing a lot of negative repercussions, I haven't really had to worry about that. My company is good, and my bosses have been fair.

But why do I feel these ways? Has anybody ever felt like this, or known others who have?

I have a job which I've had for the past 10 years. I am a lot more stressed & impatient than I used to be, and here is why. Ten years ago, the world wasn't dealing with the things they are today.
Things didn't cost as much, people weren't as rude, and they were not in as much of a hurry as they are today. It's like "their" stress, is "my" stress. The best thing you can do for "you" is this.
Start giving yourself an hour each day that is yours "only," and don't allow anyone to interupt, or take it away from you. Whatever you want to do "with" that time, is up to you. I will read for an hour some days, and other times I will walk, take a nap, write my feelings ect. But when I started doing this for myself, a lot of my stress subsided. And the "reason" it did, is because I have given myself something that is "only" mine. Okay? You might try meditation, it helps a lot. Good luck.

Time to get a new job? Not being sarcastic, but I've felt that way in the past and if a job isn't challenging anymore it just becomes annoying and redundant.

Do you still like your job?

yeah, my husband is the same way, he's been @ his job for 12 yrs. now & is bored of the same job day in & day out, perhaps you are bored of the same routine too ?

just be thankful for your job & try to get some exercise to help you get rid of the stress, best of luck !
