first of all, not all women think they're fat.

second, if she thinks she's fat but in fact she's not, she just wants to be re-assured that she's not fat.

third, if she thinks she's fat when she is indeed fat, it mean's she doesn't want other people to point out the obvious, so she does state it herself.
