american finance company charge me every month on my debit card, who are they

Sounds suspicious! Why don't you try cancelling the direct debit authority using the reference shown on your statement? The company involved should then contact you to enquire why you cancelled the payment and thus reveal more information you can use to trace them. Alternatively, you could check your known outgoings with your statement (using the amount of the payments as a guide) and you may find that these debits refer to an agreement you had with a different company - the point being that some companies use one of their affiliates to accept payments on their behalf.

I had the same problem. I found a phone number on my bank statement from them and called it. The company is actually "Verotel". They are a billing company for online sites. You can cancel your membership by going to the webpage www.verotel.com.

Ask your bank. They have to know where they are sending the money. If they don't you can charge the bank with fraud.
