exacly what it says. that we are scared more of taking chances and maybe actually failing at it therefore we never do that. fear, is the one thing that we can be scared of in many aspects: relationship wise, the future and so forth but we as people have to make mistakes, and fall down and face our fears. it says that no person is perfect, we will always, triumph, crumble and then fall just as our ancestors and even the most brilliiant people did! if you are afraid to take a chance and to persue something because you know that you are afraid of disappointment then you are scared of fear itself. you are scared of failing, crumbling and doing that again and again but as i look at it you have to because no one else will do it for you! learn to become wiser, take a first step and take a risk and a chance and if they fail so be it! you at least gave it a shot and that is more important than sitting there and debating if you should or should not do this! you fear something when you know or feel as though you are overwhelmed and think that you have to make everyone happy but in the end it is the action of you taking that risk that counts more than anything! you go against your fears and prove to yourself and to others that " hey this is not so bad after all" especially if you believe in yourself! fear is something that in my opinion makes each human being richer-not money wise- but also more wiser as well as someone who is not afraid to take chances and go against all the odds and come on top! that is fear except you make it work for your advantage!

This is from Frankin Roosevelt, the country was is trouble and people were afraid. It means that the fear itself is worse that the thing they were fearing. The fear we feel before going to the dentist is worse than going to the dentist. The same thing applied. The fear that the nation was in peril and would not survive was far worse than the reality. If you read the whole speech he explains it.

FDR said that in his inaugural address as president. It was a response to the great depression, and the people had fears that they would not have food, shelter, and jobs to support there families with. Nobody had money, and rich men became paupers.

We were a nation of fear. It brought us down. This quote smacked us in the face with that fear, basically telling america to wake the F up, we gotta fix this. Then FDR laid out his plan for reform, which we followed and became stronger as a nation.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

The only thing to fear is fear itself. As humans, we're all afraid of the unknown. We're afraid and that stops us from being all that we could be, experiencing all that we could experience, etc.

Fear makes it difficult for a person to accomplish his or her desires or wishes. Therfore, without fear, a person could accomplish anything. Fear, is then, that which we should be wary of, hence, "The only thing to fear is fear itself."

There are only 2 instinctual fears - load noises, and falling over.
All others are made up. Created though evolution.
You should be 'afraid' of fear because fear hinders all else.
Love however...
