Self Consciousness is based off your self esteem… so you have to try to build that… but it is hard…especially for girls in our society that wants you to be abnormally thing and or beautiful. If its really bugging you… you can always see a therapist… but if you cant do that then...best way is to whenever you feel these “bad thoughts” try re-directing your thoughts to something better… like for example.. When I had acne…I would look into the mirror notice it.. but then say to myself something like “its only temporary and its going to go away…and I cant wait until it does”. I dunno basically u have to try to think good things of yourself… when you do this, you’ll be surprised…because often times people will subconsciously(not aware that their doing it) do things to make themselves feel down, which in turn makes them look down… Thinking good things can even help with if you have a weight problem…because if your always stressed out it raises a hormone called (cortisol) which makes you gain weight easier… so when you dont feel down (or stressed) this hormone isn’t as high as it would be when your stressed or sad. Hope this kinda helps..Im a Psychology major so most of what im saying is based on things ive learnt over the years..

Well if you want to be less self "concise," then I would recommend making more broad statements and being vague. However, I presume that you meant self "conscious." If so, you should just focus on yourself and not worry about what others are thinking or saying about you. All that matters in this world is how you feel about yourself, not how anyone feels about you. So go out there and get 'em tiger! You are the best just the way you are!!!

Its hard to at first. But to be honest with you it starts inside and with that I mean look inside your heart. I am sure that you are a beautiful girl, and have great friends but sometimes having friends that are constantly saying, oh my hips are huge! I am not going to eat for 2 days, or something outrageous like that, that should turn a light on in your head and say these are not for me.
I am happy with the way god made me and I am going to tell my self everyday when I wake up that I love myself for who I am and what I look like. It takes baby steps. Talk to your mom about it or if you do not have one a sister or a close adult friend that you trust. Good luck!

This is the trick, find a new look. Get your bestest best friend who you would trust your life with, and get her to do your hair. That's what I did, and now, I'm getting so many compliments on it. (Mine used to always stay down and be naturally curly, but my friend got me to tigh it, then she straightened the top part (the part that was on the TOP of my head) and left the poofy part alone. I love it sooo much now.

Well, figure out what the cause of it is, and then tell urself to understand that it's just a stage and you will get over it someday, so you might as well get over it now.
