Yes, this virus is determined when you see the ob/gyn for a "pap" test, and they also ask if you want to check for others.
I say, yes, check for 100% of my health, since you already are taking 1 test....test for anything.
So each year, I get tested again.....that's the only way to determine if you have any VIRUS or disease.
Don't depend on tv's ad or a website, CALL your ob/gyn immediately for your yearly exam, and I suggest 100% of all tests that they can give you, as it does not involve more time in the office just more time in the laboratory to get better results!

Just as everyone else answered, it is HPV. I always laugh when I see the commercial on TV because they tend to forget one VERY IMPORTANT piece of information, it is A STD!! You can check if you have a high risk form of the virus (which can lead to invasive carcinoma if it is not treated) by getting a liquid based Pap smear (such as a Thin Prep--a type of pap smear). Then ask your doctor to get it "reflex" for high risk HPV. Get tested if you have had more then 5 partners, had sex at an early age, OR have had/have an STD.

I know what commercial you're talking about, I have seen it before but I can't recall the sponsor or the name or anything. Sorry.
By the way, your dog is really cute.
