Hair will grow at the best rate when trimmed every two weeks. Hair grows a half inch per month, but this can make it grow up to one inch per month. Trimming often keeps the ends clean so the hair ends won't just break when the hair grows.

Trimming once or twice a month will probably help it grow faster... I don't get split ends (even now.. when it's been about a year since my last trim/cut), but when I get regular trims, my hair seems to be more inclined to grow for some reason... it slows when I don't get any for months or a year at a time. Just make sure they trim only half an inch to an inch off at a time, depending on how often you go in :) Plus, if you're looking to grow your hair faster, I use and love my Curetage line of products. I've used them a few months now, and they're really effective. I lose much less hair, and grow it faster, plus it looks thicker, is less tangled (almost never tangled), and doesn't get oily as fast. But I tried doing just the shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks recently and it does NOT work as well--for me, at least, the whole line needs to be used in conjunction with each other. It seems pricey, but I get away with using very little.. the first set I got (I'm only now starting on my second) lasted around four months (they say it's a two-month supply) of daily use. Try it, you might like it!

I am in school currently studying cosmetology and the answer to that is no. Your hair will grow at the same rate it has been whether or not you get it trimmed. Getting you hair trimmed is good for making your hair look healthy and to stop split ends. If your hair is growing it is in a stage called the anagen stage where it will grow regardless to weather it is trimmed or not. When your hair is in its resting stage it is in the telogen stage and is just natural. Getting your hair trimmed will not make it start growing again it will do it on its own.

That is a bit of a fallacy. Just cutting hair does not make it grow faster, but trimming off and removing damaged hair promote a healthier head of hair that does grow better due to the fact that it no longer has the damaged hair to deal with. Once the hair has actually grown out of your head, it is already on it's way to dying. Hair treatments and conditioner can extend its appearance as healthy, but they don't actually repair or enrich the hairs health.

yes. by trimming it, you get rid of all the dead/split ends, and that leaves room for your hair to grow faster. you should get it trimmed about every 6 weeks. :)

Your hair will grow in *healthier* if you trim it, but it won't grow any faster. Supposedly hot weather speeds hair production, as told to me by several stylists. Just FYI.

yeah. If you get rid of all the split-ends. Plus, i think you're supposed to get a hair-trim every 4 months.

I dont think it makes it grow faster
just cutting it makes it a bit
healthier.
But hair grows from the roots
so why do the tips being cut off
make it grow faster?
thats like fileing your nails to make them grow
faster.
