the usa supported a dictatorial non democratic corrupt regime in Cuba, when Castro over threw the dictator. While castor isn’t democratic they are least care for the majority of people and provide free medical and education.
the usa looks at Cuba as part of its shear of influence and resents any thing that it can not control. the usa doesn’t care about democracy as it over threw a democratic regime in Chile and supported a dictator it is purely about ideology and influence
the situation has now worsened as in florida (controled by Bush's brother ) has a large cuban community who want an even harder line against cuba and on a state and federal level the cuba vote if influencial
the usa is still fighting the cold war in cuba
