I am now working my job from my computer at home so I can cook rather then my husbands crazy meals. I'd like imput (like taste and nutritional value) on the following meal ideas I have for the next few days:

Salmon & Romaine Lettuce
Salisbury Steak w/ Mashed Potato's & Mixed Veggies
Beef Stew w/ String Beans and Apple Sauce
Chipped Beef Sandwhiches
Macaroni & Cheese w/ Carrots & Peas
Potatos w/ Baked Beans poured on top
Fried Chicken w/ Spanish Rice
Chicken Nuggets w/ Mashed Potatoes & Corn
Ground beef w/ Butter Noodles & Seasoning (season salt, lemon pepper, sazon, adobo, and garlic salt)

Well...if your kids like all these things it's great. You may want to adopt a long-term goal of fewer fried foods, more variety in vegetables and more vegetables and a little less beef. Beans, lentils, and rice are very nutritious and are less expensive. Add chicken burritos. Instead of beef stew, how about beef soup with plenty of vegetables and if they are picky about which vegetables they like include some processed in the blender beyond recognition and introduce more variety gradually. And, oven roast chicken when possible instead of frying. I am happy to see salmon on the menu. Congratulations on skipping desserts. Our family grew up with desserts on holidays only and grown sons are grateful that none developed a sweet tooth.
Didn't see spaghetti and have read that tomatoes are very healthy part of diet and canned tomatoes are as nutritious as fresh.

Skip the first one unless your kids actually like Sauerkraut.
Salmon and just lettuce? How about poached Salmon, rice and a vegetable that might be similarly flavored as the Salmon (lemon or vinegar) such as spinach or fiddleheads.
Why do you need anything else with beef stew....make some biscuits instead to go with it.
With a large family some other things that go a long way are spaghetti, pizza and chicken stew. Casseroles are great and can be made in large quantities. Instead of mashed potatoes, you could also try microwaving whole potatoes (stab them first) and serving with grated cheddar cheese.

You got some good ideas and I could give you many many more but I will just tell you ....don't be afraid to experiment and if you see an interesting recipe, don't be afraid to change it to make it even better and fit in with the tastes of your family. Have fun.

Sauerkraut and kids? Never saw that work in my house! :(
I like it so that was a double whammy, I had to cook two meals.

My kids would never eat salmon without a complaint, and it's so expensive I just buy haddock instead, everyone liked that, much milder flavor.

Other than that, chicken nuggets are a nutritional nightmare for anyone unless you're making them from scratch, in that case no problem.

Thumbs down to your nice, well worded straight forward question? There are so many idiots on this site! Watch, I'll get 3 thumbs down now at least! LOL

My kids love these 2 dishes. meatloaf with mashed potatoes on top. After I add the potatoes I rebake it for a few minutes. Also I bake them in a muffin tin and sometimes use a cake bag to add the potatoes so it can be fun. Meatloaf is easy 1lb ground beef 1 egg crackers or oatmeal 1 cup ketchup or ketchup BBQ mix onion and garlic Mix in a large bowel and bake in a bread pan or shape it into a loaf Bake at 350 for about 1 hr Quiche Bake a regular crust for 10 min at 350 In a large bowel Add filling all that is a must 1 2 cups cheese. You can add spinach, chicken, bacon, onion, tomato's that is what we use or you can add ham. 1 small bowel 1 egg 3/4 mayo 3/4 milk... Mix Pour large bowel ingredients into pie crust and then pour liquid mix over top. bake 350 till golden brown. I almost forgot this one..... I make up some taco meat and or chicken and set up a buffett line in the kitchen with tomatos, cheese, sour cream, sauces, cheese dip ect.... I heat a large pan with olive oil and let them walk down the line filling up 1/2 a flour tortilla shell then I fry it in olive oil. They love these. Pineapple and chesse ones are really yummy as well. Although they didnt sound nearly as well as they taste. Good Luck my kids love these and I most of the time have to make enough for lunch the next day.

as far as taste, I think you will be fine with your kids except for maybe the sauerkraut. The nutritional value however are questionable on a few like the chicken nuggets. On the whole though, you are a good mom and meal planner.

I agree with everyone else. Sounds all good, even the sauerkraut. I am sure glad you took over your dh's cooking. Lots of veggies. Well balanced meals.
Lucky kids you've got.

wow... except for the sauerkraut ('cause I'm not a fan) it all sounds like a well-balanced plan for a family. And very kid-friendly all at the same time!

What time's Dinner??
