The most important thing is to practice practice practice. That way when you are nervous onstage, you can focus on your breathing and not have to think too much about your next line, etc. When you get nervous, just remember to breathe deep. If you have practiced well, you will do fine
As far as not getting hoarse, make sure you stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Room temperature is best - but not cold water as that makes your throat tighten up and you won't sing as well. Drink warm herbal teas to keep your throat soothed, especially with slippery elm bark and mullien. Yogi Tea Company makes a great herbal tea called Throat Comfort. You can order online at www.yogitea.com

ok u have to suck it up and go. when i get in front of people i get nerves, but i have to do it. if u want 2 sing and dance at the same time start with singing when u get the singing down than start dancing. u can't keep from gong hoarse till your voice gets used to singing. if u wanted the part, and since u got it u got 2 give all u got.

p.s and bout your friends sometimes it's better not to say any thing.

1) ingnore the crowd by unfocussing your eyes--look right through the audience.2)As you move, your voice will naturally sound better because it will produce vibrato.(Try it, just walk wihile singing and you'll hear your voice with tremelo).3)Sip water frequently.4)Ask your friends to help you practice, and even critique you lol.

Just realize that the toughest part is starting. Once you begin, you'll be fine. Don't worry about it too much.
