Well, i like to be here in UK, but my student Visa will expire when i finished my study. I have only study here for 3 years.

I understand how hard it is to get a job here, especialy when it involve working permit. But i would still like to stay here as i like the life here.

Is there anyway i can extend my stay till i get a PR?

The easiest thing is to apply for a permit now before your student visa runs out. If you make contact with either the local government or your own government they will be able to give you all of the details needed. You have plenty of time to sort it out, but it is best to find out now how you can extend your stay, as there is alot of paperwork and usually takes a while to get it all sorted out.

Don't listen to people here ... Marriage is not the easiest way to stay in the country, it is alot harder to get married to someone from the UK than to get a work permit.

All the best Jx

I think some of you people should be asshamed of yourselves, we should be think of it as a good thing that so many people would like to live in the UK. Whereas all some people can do is make racist and discrimatory remarks ... dont judge until you know others situation ...

Go home and stop trying to take jobs off British people. There is no more room at the inn!!!

Try going somewhere else where there are more jobs. At the moment there are not even enough for the "native" Brits without people from outside the UK taking jobs.

You could give Ireland a try.

If immigrants continue treating this country as a place to make money then our economy will go under and everyone will suffer, I'm sorry and I'm glad you've enjoyed being here but the government are going to have to tighten up on immigration before things start getting really bad.

I admire and applaud the previous respondent, telling off the offensive posters.

Many, many british people travel, live and work abroad freely, and their lives are the richer for it. I don't see anyone up in arms about that, so why can't we return the favour?

If many of us brits tried to live for even a month in 50% of the countries in this world we would understand why they want to live somewhere as free and comfortable as the UK. No food, no water, kids going to war as soldiers, no healthcare, institutionalised human rights abuses, no money, no homes, intolerable heat, rife disease, no TV, no schools, no jobs, no playstations, no internet, nothing.

What kind of b******s are the UK citizens if we say you live like that, and we'll sit in our riches and watch footballers wives.

We're one global world, let's share the wealth and help the needy and stop being so disgustingly selfish.

You can extend your visa for a temporary period after you have finished your studies -- it all depends on which country you come from.

But, best of luck. Enjoy the rest of your stay, I hope it works out for you.

You have to be in the UK for 10 years on a student visa before you can apply for permanent leave to remain.

If you have a work permit I believe it's 5 years, and 3 if your partner is a UK citizen.

Marriage is your quickest route to stay here, then working if you can find someone to hire you. You could also keep studying and studying, but my understanding is that it's very hard to get visas for 10 years as a student, they really don't want you to get PLR that way.

I wish i could answer your question but it is making me mad reading it - I'm not qualified to answer it you need to ask the other b*ms sucking this country dry and then trying to make us live 'their way of life!'.........I could go on......just prove me wrong if you do suceed - work hard, don't suck this country dry and put back into the 'kitty' that which everyone else seems to be taking out!

In Response to 'The Mighty' (four listings down)
Some of your comments are offensive - especially to me -
British people who travel/Live/Work abroad work damn hard in this country first and then visit these 'poorer' countries helping to 'up' the countries revenue whilst being ripped off in the process by over priced resorts, leaving with little more than the bad publicity that inhabitants want to bestow on us!
ARE YOU NUTS! We don't owe anyone on 'returning the favour'!!!
Some of these people risk their lives clingling under trains to illegally enter the country, and live off the state!
Lying to get as much as they can.
And 'somewhere free' like you say is right!!
There is many a time throughout my life I have no food, no bloody healthcare, sent unfairly to the back of the queue for housing, had to endure intolerable heat (this Summer), had rife disease 'cos of overcrowding in GP surgeries (In fact might have caught it there!) so couldn't see a Doctor, TV on the blink, English taught as a foreign lanuage in childs school etc.etc.

Thankfully I have freedom of speech which I am excercising, I am not rascist but justified in my belief in equality and fairness, and thankfully with enough brain to not sit and use verbally abusive insults about this countries inhabitants which appears to be suiting and supporting you very well while you watch your footballers wives (p.s. never seen it too busy working putting money in the kitty!!!!)
