Not all Christians were part of the Inquisition, the Witchhunts, etc. Eastern Christianity has never had these secular pressures and they have never had fanatics who would go to these extremes.

Some people use religion as a tool to fulfill another agenda, Muslims do it, Christians do it, Buddhists do it, etc.

I don't think so.
One would think that Muslims would have learnt from the negatives of the inquisition.

The parallels are somewhat different though; then, it was evil popes and religious clergy killing for fear of the devil; there were also political motives.
Today, Fanatic Muslims think that Allah wants the whole world converted to their version of Islam. We should all learn from the past..shouldn't we?

No,
they are like the Muslims in the seventh century, they never 'grew up' as a society.
In a closed society without free speech, a free press, human rights and the protections of law there can be no progress. In 10,000 years they will still be like this unless they grow tired of tyranny and lawlessness and get rid of Islam.

It's not about religion. It's about power and greed.
And if you do research into history properly, you'll note that Muslims haven't been the ones to invade people's lands.

And to this day it's the same case. People are still invading their lands -- Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. For what? Oil. Like I said... greed and power....

The inquisition was Catholic and had nothing to do with Christianity what so ever. The Catholics claimed to be Christian, but they were not interested in keeping people out of hell. They were subjugating people to the pope with the sword. Yes, a lot like the Muslims today-but Christianity was far from them.

You got it wrong, Christians were the ones tortured and burned at the sake along with Jewish people, it was Catholics, not Christians that instituted the inquisition and killed 86,000,000 people over a period of 400 years.

You are correct. Islam is exactually where Christinaity was in the middle ages and lasted up into the 1800s. (Joesph Smith (founder of the mormon church) and his brother was two of the last white people put to death by a major Christian sect in America . But many people were killed sence in smaller religious sects. Even today a mormon sect leader was executed in Ohio for the deaths of 5 people who were dissatified with his rule.
The difference in Spainish religious murders of indians were basically for gold, land, and converts.
American indian deaths can be contributed mainly to land grab as it was in hawaii , and country wide. There was or is very little evidence of religion reasons for the deaths of so many Indians. In fact religious leaders showed little effort to convert indians. reather this also was one of greed after Goild as in Georgia and the west and land .
The spainish were after riches to fill the coffers of the King of spain. As more settlers poured in and the hated English began to enter the picture land became the second spainish goal resulting in the deaths of millions of South, central, and mexican area indians. (the real question is why are so many so proud of the language of their ancessors murders.).
Muslims theology is pretty simple. Theirs is at all cost to maintain superiority over females(something Christian men have only given up in the last few years to soem extent.)
The entire religion of Islam points to a madden drakurian effort to preserve the slave like ownership of muslim women, and to spread it over the world as law.
Muslims fear that releasing women from the bondage of that religion they must suffer in places like Iran, Sauda Araba, ect. will result in the removal eventually of islam as a world wide influence, and it will.
They also fear that education and freedom of islamic women will weaken their religions control of the governments which is in effect their own control and path to power.
No matter what the news media protrays islam or the islamic leaders it is in effect a religion which legalizes the submission of females under males.nothing else.

In answer to Poki Poki the entire land now under Islam was taken from christians, and other none muslims. Islam was not a conversion by choice but one by force. even now it is against the law for a muslim to convert to christianity punishable by death. Good greif read your newspapers, watch tv. what do you think is going on in Iraq, Iran, africa, asia, afganistan, pakistan, indroneasia, non muslims are being murdered daily to install muslims in their land.and homes. Read the story of your religion. It's birth was a result of murder, rape, occupation, robbery.

Islam has always been this way. Throughout its history, Muslims have been at war. In fact, the greatest genocides in history were perpetrated by Muslims (see Arab Invasions of India).
