You will have to live with soreness for quite a while if you have not being doing any kind of training or following a regular program of exercise training. Jumping into a boot camp type of training is just crazy because of the potential for injuries, which could handicap your desire for fitness. What happens with everyday training is that the lactic Acid builds up, without time to rest and recuperate with one or two days in between sessions. To help flush out that Lactic Acid a very hot shower followed with whole body friction with a good towel and then a cool shower rinse to calm the nervous system is recommended. Also, some self-massage, or by a professional, or a good friend will help you immensely to recover.

The best way to cure soreness as far as I know is to give your muscles time to recuperate. So, try to get more sleep and more rest - the less you use those muscles, the sooner they will repair and stop hurting. Also, you may want to cut back a bit on your workout regime - maybe you're overextending yourself too much at the gym and putting more pressure on your muscles than needed.

Stretching is the best "medicine". You have built up lactic acid in your upper leg muscles and calves. The only way to ease the lactic acid out is to really stretch after excerise. Then apply heat to relax your muscles. I hope you feel better!

soak with epsom salt or and do an alcohol rub down (massage by a partner is great). depending upon how sensitive your skin is you can take an alcohol bath one bottle to a half tub but this is very drying so an oil massage would be good afterwards. Thermo hot/cold packs are great too

Keep it up past the shock. It's worst at first, then you get past the shock. There are some supplements that help with recovery. Use Advil if you already have the pain.

i love that pain. it means you are working out good. its a build up of lactic acid. anyhow, try some extra strtching before and especially after to try and shake some lactic acid out. eventually the pain will go away after exercise. that means your body has got used to your routine. anyway keep up the workouts girl.

Ibuprofen, hot baths, heating pad, rest. When you are just beginning a exercise program, work out every other day so your muscles can recover.

I usually mix myself a stiff drink and relax in a comfortable chair. Oh and did I mention I do that INSTEAD of working out not AFTER working out.

Take a bath in Epsom salt as hot as possible and don't be stingy with the salt.
