I would also recommend the google-pack.

Go ahead and buy the software, it is only $29.95 - $39.95 depending on where you get it. I opted for the full Internet Security
Suite. $49.95 at Costco, just this weekend. As most of the time this is an item that must be purchased at Symantec's website or through your local software dealer.
The trial versions usually allow you to later up-grade to the full version and also allow you to link to the Symantec website, where you may be able to get a discount.
I WOULD CAUTION LOOKING FOR A FREE VERSION.
I work on computers all of the time, and cannot tell you how much business I got last year due to customers looking for free anti-virus software. Usually you are loading more bad stuff onto your computer than you are trying to fix. (SPYWARE, TROJANS, ADWARE, and DATA MINERS)

Get AVG Anti-Virus instead. It's a free download and not a trial version. Norton is such a system hog and nearly impossible to completly remove from your system.

There's better antivirus.... I used Norton for 10+ years and sent the latest software back to them with a poison pen letter. I think the software is totally overkill and invasive..... If you have roadrunner, they give you a free total package or you can download free antivirus on-line.....

Use AVG. Its actually free (so you don't have to pirate it) and its not a resource hog like Norton.
